Dr. Carlos Ramos is a neonatologist at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego and an associate clinical professor of pediatrics at UC San Diego.
Dr. Ramos graduated from the University of El Salvador in San Salvador, El Salvador and from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona. He completed his training in pediatrics at Lincoln Medical Center in New York City and in neonatology at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
His main clinical and research interests are non-invasive ventilation of the newborn and the molecular biology of lung morphogenesis. He has worked extensively in global health, helping to train neonatology fellows and pediatric residents in Ethiopia, and he continues to teach NRP and the Helping Babies Breath initiative abroad.
