Dr Roopali is a Consultant Neonatologist who has worked at large multispecialty neonatal units in the UK and the Middle East. She completed her Paediatric and Neonatal postgraduate training in the UK before taking up consultant posts at Bradford Royal Infirmary and University College London hospital. She has subsequently worked in the Middle East for the last 4 years.
In the role of associate program director for postgraduate medical education at Sidra Medicine, Doha, Dr Roopali was instrumental in developing the curriculums and establishing the first neonatal fellowship program and functional echocardiography training program. She also held the post of Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London Hospital and is an instructor at the Neonatal Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation Program courses.
Dr Roopali obtained a Masters degree in Child Health from the University of Leeds, wherein she performed research work on late-onset sepsis. This, along with her interest and work in developmental and family centred care, neurodevelopmental follow up, post graduate medical education and functional echocardiography have led to a number of national and international presentations and publications in indexed journals.
